Fishing Savannah, Hilton Head and Beaufort

april 3 Fishing the low country with fly and light tackle for 20 years. What a great great last couple of days !!  We actually have had light winds for 2 day in a row, and we get light winds with a first light low tide.  Oh Daddy  like !!!  A buddy of mine and I went looking for some trout with not much luck, but we did see and a ton of reds cruising the grass.  It’s funny how after so many years of red fishing I love catching trout.  A  light spinning rod rigged with a 1/4 ounce DOA shrimp and I’m loving it.  I wasn’t loving it the other day though.  Not even a bite from a trout.  There are some decent trout reports about town, but dag nabit not even a bite !  So we had to catch some reds.  Water temps are climbing fast that means triple tail and cobia will be arriving happy and hungry !

I have been fishing the Georgia and South Carolina Coast for 30 years and guiding full time for 20 plus years. What you will get from me is a quality fishing trip, whether with fly rod or spinning tackle that is always a long time on the water for the rate. My half days run more like 5-6 hours and full days are over 8 hours. 4 hours on a half day just isn't long enough to fish. What you will not get from me is a quick trip to spots 5 minutes away that are fished heavily so can make it back to the dock in time for my next trip. I have guided through out the southeast as well as Alaska and the Bahamas. I have been instrumental in developing shallow water sight casting in Georgia and South Carolina and have been the first to introduce Tarpon fishing on fly rod to South Carolina and Georgia!!
