Big time winter fun!!

What a week it’s been.  From stripers to schools of  reds 200 yards long, it’s been F$%&ing fun.  Looks as though the stripers are here for the winter and this is some kinda great news.  Windy days on the flats can be spent chasing stripers on the river where the wind is not such a concern.  We have been on a school of fish this week that”no Bullshit” is 200yards long!!  With  the hard west winds and negative tides made for more fish pooling up in the area.  Yesterday the reds were cruising up and down the flat busting the heck out of the mullet and shrimp.  Nice to see this time of year.  Anytime of the year!!   On another note, I have been using some Hardy Gear for the past year or so and I must say, Thumbs up!!  Rods and reels seem to handle everyday use in the boat, getting beat up and punished by customers and myself. (I’ve never been one to baby my rods).  So if ya have a chance give’m a look

Fishing with Melon

With the wind around 20 and gusting up to thirty Melon and I decided to go fishing.  With a 1.5 hours of light we busted 5 stripers around 5-7 lbs.  Not the biggest but fun non the less.  It was nice to do something besides reds, not that I don’t like them but as I’ve said before if ya want to fish without boats all over you do anything but red fish.  Nice to mix the pot a bit.  Speaking of the reds they are in some nice schools and ready to be

"Melon"

exercised.
